The Australian government is finalising the details of legislation relating to its proposed mandatory climate-related financial disclosure regime. Whilst the precise date of enactment is not known, some of the proposed changes may apply as early as 1 July 2024 and they incorporate requirements which are novel in the Australian financial reporting context. In our article below we outline the key features of the proposed regime and consider how boards should be preparing for these changes.
