Arthur advises on investment treaty arbitration and international commercial arbitration, as well as public international law.
He has experience advising governments and companies in arbitration proceedings under the rules of different institutions, including ICSID and ICC.

Arthur was previously seconded to the A&O Shearman pro bono team and has an active pro bono practice with a strong interest in access to justice and the role of international law.

Prior to joining the firm, Arthur read law at the University of Cambridge and worked as a Research Assistant in the International Dispute Resolution department of the Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore.

Experience

Pro bono

  • Representing the family of Harry Dunn, a 19-year-old killed in a road traffic collision with an American driving on the wrong side of the road, in inquest proceedings.
  • Assisting JUSTICE in preparing the second edition of their Law for Lawmaker’s Guide. The guide was shared with all MPs and was endorsed by the Attorney General and former Secretary for Justice.
  • Advising a single-parent charity on areas of discrimination in various areas of UK legislation.
  • Representing an individual in enforcement proceedings against her former employers to receive compensation for minimum wage.
