Fee has more than 10 years’ experience in advising clients on complex environmental, regulatory and public law matters covering transactional, advisory and litigation work.

Fee assists clients in relation to (compliance with) environmental laws, such as contaminated land procedures, permitting and noise issues and queries relating to foreign direct investments. She has a thorough and practical understanding of how to deal with public law entities/authorities, and has vast experience in relation to (renewable) energy infrastructure projects. Fee assists international clients in relation to EU product regulations, including compliance with the RoHS and WEEE directives, BPR, REACH and POPs.

Her areas of expertise cover the (renewable) energy, real estate, retail, chemicals, electronic and life sciences sectors.

Fee has previously been seconded to our New-York office and our London office, where she assisted clients on international regulatory matters, including compliance and sanctions and Brexit-related matters. She is identified in the Legal 500 2023 as a “rising star” for EU Regulatory (Chemicals) and Environment.

Fee regularly publishes articles on environmental and regulatory topics and is a member of the editorial board of Tijdschrift Milieu- en Energierecht (MER).

Experience

Representative matters

  • Various wind energy project developers in relation to regulatory requirements for the development and operation of onshore and offshore wind projects.
  • B2B and B2C product compliance issues (relating to compliance with REACH, RoHS and POPs restrictions and requirements) across EU Member States.
  • The public waste agency, on the PFOS pollution case relating to a major contamination in Zwijndrecht (port of Antwerp) with so-called “forever chemicals”, and the related parliamentary investigations.
  • Royal Vopak, a global independent infrastructure provider, on the acquisition of a storage tank terminal operator in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, from the Gunvor Group.
  • Airline operators on aircraft noise related matters, including related litigation before Belgian courts.

Pro bono

  • Supporting Women for Women International, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that provides support to female survivors of war.
