Filip Tanghe

Filip is Co-head of Belgium Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure and Belgium Restructuring.

He specialises in project finance, corporate lending, export financings, real estate finance, capital markets transactions, acquisition finance, asset finance and other international finance transactions.

Filip also has extensive experience in advising on restructurings, financial services regulation, factoring and multi-jurisdictional trade receivables financing and securitization. He works with major international clients, including financial institutions, sponsors, debt funds and corporate clients.

He is consistently recommended for his expertise by legal directories, and is a member of both the Brussels and the Antwerp bar.

Experience

Representative matters

  • The lenders in relation to a refinancing by Ontex Group. A “bank + bond” deal, the multi-layered refinancing incorporated a syndicated facilities agreement and a high yield bond for an aggregate amount of €900,000,000.
  • The lenders on the project financing of the Dendermonde prison PPP (DBFM).
  • La Lorraine Bakery, a Belgian family-owned company on  a complex refinancing of its bank financings arrangements, including a US private placement.
  • The real estate refinancing of the Manhattan building: The lenders on the real estate refinancing for the Manhattan building with Victory as a sponsor.
  • The mandated lead arrangers in respect of the financing by Elia Group SA/NV to acquire a 35.1% stake in a subsidiary of an energy transition company. 
  • The lenders in respect of the financing of the voluntary public tender offer by Cegeka Groep NV, a Belgium-based company IT group, on all outstanding shares of common stock of Computer Task Group, Incorporated (NASDAQ).

  • Advising SOS Children's Villages and Habbekrats on various pro bono matters.
