He has experience on various transactions, including securitisation, loan and deal-contingent hedging, repos, CDS, total return swaps and note issuance programmes.

James works with a wide range of clients across different jurisdictions, including major financial institutions and corporations. He has spent time on secondment in New York.

Representative matters

  • 3i and its portfolio company, Action, on the hedging element of a US dollar term loan issuance raising USD1.5bn.
  • A major European bank in relation to a cross-border funding agreement-backed repo transaction worth USD1bn.

Pro bono

  • Researched advice for members of the public in relation to maternity and pregnancy discrimination and other maternity related rights.
