He regularly represents clients in proceedings before competition and regulatory authorities and courts. Jochem has extensive experience advising on investment restrictions and regularly publishes on competition and investment law.
Before joining the firm, he completed the Blue Book Traineeship at the European Commission, DG Competition, where he focused mainly on State aid law, including fiscal aid. Jochem speaks fluent Chinese, and graduated from the University of Cambridge (LLM, first-class honors) and the University of Groningen (Research LLM, cum laude). He is currently an external PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam, where he writes his PhD thesis on investments screening in the European Union.
