Laetitia regularly assists clients with data protection queries and compliance and advises on technology and AI-related matters.
 
Laetitia advises on the AI, data protection, intellectual property and information technology aspects of commercial acquisitions. Laetitia also works on a wide range of commercial and complex cross-border transactions, including life sciences transactions. These transactions involve advice on transitional services, manufacturing services, manufacturing and supply, outsourcing and licensing arrangements.
 
 
Laetitia previously spent six months on secondment to Reckitt in the corporate legal team.
 
 
Laetitia also ran a half marathon in Sierra Leone in support of Street Child, a former global charity partner of the firm.

Experience

Representative matters

  • A payment services provider with data protection policies (including fair processing notices and security policies), automated decision-making, use of biometric data and explaining decisions made with AI, as against current best practice, taking account of recent legislative cases from data protection regulators.
  • An AI company on its acquisition of an AI chatbot, focusing on IP and data protection diligence.
  • A global engineering company on the impact of a zero-day cyber attack, including on notification and reporting obligations.
  • AviLease on its USD3.6bn acquisition of Standard Chartered Bank’s global aviation leasing business, Pembroke Capital.
  • Exponent Private Equity on the USD220m acquisition of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.’s Flavor and Specialty Ingredients business.

Pro bono

  • Completing a two-week pro-bono secondment in Warsaw as part of the Safe Passage International Ukraine Project initiative, working in clinics to advise Ukrainian refugees in finding a safe route to the UK.
  • Representing a client in a benefits appeal case on behalf of Zacchaeus 2000 Trust, in the First Tier Tribunal.
  • Advising Stepney City Farm, City Harvest and Place2Be on their data protection compliance programmes.
  • Working with the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative on producing a report setting out the challenges of the safe routes for Afghans in the UK and the recommendations for improving these schemes, as well as a self-help guidance document on the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy.
