Lara advises on a wide range of restructuring, pre-insolvency, insolvency and security enforcement matters.

She has advised on some of the main restructuring and insolvency proceedings in Spain during the past years, including a number of cross-border transactions. She has also participated in the litigation phases of those proceedings in case of challenges to the judicial sanction of the restructuring plans or claw-back actions.

Lara works with major national and international clients across jurisdictions, including financial institutions, funds and large corporates, and in multiple sectors including financial services, real estate, media, retail and many more. Moreover, Lara is a member of the A&O Sherman Spanish Pro Bono Committee.

Experience

Representative matters

  • Food Delivery Brands (Telepizza) in the restructuring of its financial indebtedness through the newly implemented Restructuring Plan, entered into with the majority of its creditors.
  • Mediapro Group in the refinancing process of its debt and in the capital increase for 620 million euros, subscribed by Southwind Group, Grupo Mediapro's main shareholder.
  • Farallon in the restructuring of the existing debt of Hoteles Marina d’Or through a Spanish scheme and subsequent challenge by minority creditors.
  • Banco Santander in the restructuring of the financial indebtedness of the hotel group Grupo Rosa (including Princesa Yaiza).
  • A major litigation fund in the insolvency proceedings of the Petersen entities.

Pro bono

  • Member of the A&O Sherman Madrid Pro Bono Committee.
  • Advising the Spanish DEC (Disasters Emergency Committee), Comité de Emergencia Español, on its establishment (a project with which, for the first time, the Spanish office won the A&O Pro Bono & Community Investment Awards 2021).
  • Advising the Spanish clearinghouse Fundación Pro Bono España on different projects and having been a speaker at the V ProBono Conference (2023) organized by them.
