Lucy advises sponsors and lenders on a wide range of project financing and acquisition financing transactions in the petrochemicals, energy and infrastructure sectors. Lucy also has experience advising sponsors on structuring and financing energy transition projects in the MENA region.

Prior to moving to the UAE, Lucy trained and worked in the London office specialising in a variety of infrastructure acquisition financings and renewable energy projects.

Experience

Representative matters

  • Abu Dhabi Polymers Co Ltd (Borouge) on the development and financing of the USD6bn Borouge 4 petrochemicals project, involving the development of a 1.5mtpa ethane cracker and associated downstream polymer units.
  • A leading shipping company on Green Marine Fuel Corridors including green hydrogen to ammonia and methanol plants. This includes all regulatory aspects (RED II and RFNBO) and the development, construction and financing of a series of giga-projects (including in Oman).
  • Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets on the c.GBP1bn acquisition of a majority stake in Southern Water, a provider of essential services to 2.6 million water and 4.7 million wastewater customers across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. 
  • The lenders on the EUR663.1m financing for the construction and operation of a 200m m3/year desalination plant in Israel (Sorek B). 
  • The sponsors on the GBP1bn development of the 299MW Teesside Biomass Combined Heat and Power Plant in the UK.

Pro bono

  • 4 years Mentoring young people through the firm’s award-winning Smart Start programme.
  • 4 years as a governor to a one thousand pupil inner city academy in Battersea, London.
