Martin is Head of Germany Capital Markets.

He has been with the firm since 2004. Martin has broad expertise advising financial institutions, corporates and other financial market participants on all aspects of German and international capital markets transactions. He specializes in advising on securitization and other structured finance transactions (encompassing both true sale and synthetic structures and a wide variety of asset classes, including auto loans and leases).

His practice also includes the specialized advice on complex bonds, structured products and derivatives matters. Martin has extensive experience advising on the most complex derivatives matters under German and international master agreements. He has also wide experience advising on regulatory matters in these areas.

  • London-based leading international asset manager M&G Investments on its investment in the first European securitization of receivables arising under the sale of photovoltaic systems. The transaction won trade journal GlobalCapital’s “Private Securitization of the Year” award for 2023.
  • A group of multinational financial institutions on European Investment Bank’s issuance of dematerialised bonds in different blockchains across Europe through legal and operational engineering. The transaction was awarded the Global Digital Finance Award at the IFLR Europe Awards 2023.
  • Global Loan Agency Services as security trustee on Leoni AG's restructuring transaction pursuant to the German StaRUG.
  • Invesco in connection with the issuance of the first physically-backed Bitcoin Exchange Traded Notes that are listed for trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and their Programme.
