Rachel is an energy transition specialist, providing sector driven advice to a range of sponsors, investors and lenders on the development and financing of energy transition projects, particularly in the green fuels, battery and low carbon power sectors.
She specialises in advising on the commercial and financial arrangements core to energy transition, having experience working with developers and financiers across technologies, such as low carbon hydrogen and green fuels, battery manufacturing and recycling, renewable and low carbon heat and power generation and supply (including offshore wind, solar, nuclear, CHP, heat pumps), district heating, energy efficiency, energy management, energy storage and energy network flexibility services.

Experience

Representative matters

  • The ECAs and lenders on the first of a kind utility-scale 1m+ tpa Helios green hydrogen and ammonia project (including solar and wind generation) in KSA. This multi-billion dollar project includes the world’s first large-scale green ammonia offtake contract.
  • Northvolt on the financing of the up to 60GWh expansion of its lithium-ion gigafactory project in Sweden.
  • The sponsor on all aspects of the development and financing of a blue hydrogen project, including in respect of the UK hydrogen business model support with DESNZ, hydrogen offtake arrangements and arrangements for the connection to the CO2 transport and storage network.
