Ruth advises clients, including in particular investment fund managers, institutional investors and asset managers, on the structuring and setting-up of open-ended as well as closed-ended investment funds, as well as the investments and divestments of these fund vehicles and the (re-)financing of their assets.
Her particular focus is on regulated investors such as pension funds, pension schemes but also fund initiators as well as the asset class real estate and other alternative investments. She also regularly advises clients on (cross-border) fund distribution and sustainability related aspects.

  • Client on the regulatory assessment of the sale and repayment of an existing bond and loan financing of a sub-portfolio of 24 residential properties in Japan.
  • A Dutch asset manager on the eligibility of a real estate investment fund with the real estate quota pursuant to the German Investment Ordinance.
  • Advising a fund on the transfer of its target investment to an Alternative Investment Vehicle (AIV).
  • Client (on behalf of a real estate special fund) on regulatory issues in connection with the planned refinancing of a commercial property located in the USA.
  • Client on the sale of a privatization portfolio in the Netherlands, which is held by a Luxembourg fund.
  • Client on ESG related disclosure obligations and, in particular, compliance of its portfolio management services with SFDR and Taxonomy Regulation.
  • Client on regulatory issues in connection with the planned lease and operation of a car park located in Ireland.
  • Client on the partial disposal of a real estate portfolio comprising of real properties located in Germany.
