Walter specialises in syndicated loan transactions in the context of acquisitions and has also advised on several restructurings. 
He has widespread experience with all financing options for strategic and sponsor-backed borrowers, including, High Yield Bonds, Private Debt / Unitranche, Schuldscheine, derivatives and syndicated loans. Most recently, he advised on syndicated loans for, among others, BMW, Deutsche Telekom, Schaeffler and SMA Solar. He also advised on the restructurings of Benteler, Wirecard, ENERCON, Bartec and the Austrian Asamer Group.

Experience

Representative matters

  • Bilfinger SE on the refinancing of its revolving credit facility.
  • The global wind turbine manufacturer ENERCON on the refinancing of existing financial liabilities (credit facility of EUR1.15bn) as part of a fundamental realignment of the company’s business; Alterric GmbH (a joint venture newly established in that context) on its debut financing in the syndicated loan market.
  • The family shareholders of BENTELER Group in connection with the refinancing of existing financial indebtedness in the context of the group’s restructuring programme.
