Arnold has a broad dispute resolution practice with a focus on corporate and securities litigation, banking and finance disputes, directors' liability, governance issues and class actions.

He headed the firm's Management Team from 2009 to 2015. He holds board positions in charitable organizations and companies and practices alternative dispute resolution through the wyse-cs.eu platform.

Experience

Representative matters

Deloitte in an accountants’ liability case initiated by Vestia, a Dutch housing corporation, including bringing a contribution action against the Dutch state and others for wrongful neglect in supervising Vestia. Vestia was rescued from bankruptcy in 2012 after being confronted with large margin calls under a derivative portfolio, which also resulted in an inquiry by Dutch parliament.

The former supervisory directors of Imtech, the bankrupt technology group, in an action brought by investors claiming to have been misled and in the bankruptcy trustee investigations.

PPG in the litigation surrounding its take-over bid for Akzo, in which hedge fund Elliott sought to remove Akzo’s chairman for rejecting PPG’s bid.

Telegraaf Media Group in the litigation over the take-over battle between Mediahuis and John de Mol.

Eneco Group in enquiry proceedings on its privatisation process involving a number of governance issues, a conflict with its shareholders and its Works Council.
