A&O Shearman advises CVC on financing for extending its partnership with Multiversity

A cross-border leveraged finance team from A&O Shearman advised CVC, a leading global private markets manager, on the financing in connection with the extension of its partnership with Multiversity through a CVC managed continuation fund.

The financing consisted of EUR1.1 billion of new senior secured notes, EUR765 million of existing senior secured notes and EUR194.5m of RCF ('Revolving credit facility').

Multiversity has demonstrated impressive performance since CVC Fund VII’s initial investment in 2019.

The A&O Shearman team was led by sponsor side leveraged finance partner and private equity sector lead (Europe) Neil Sinha, high yield partner John Kicken and sponsor side leveraged finance partner Nick Hallam together with lead associates in London, Sampada Bannurmath and Susie Emmanuel and associates Giacomo Geronico OrlandiJack Cameron, Elizabeth Athanassios, Baxter Schooley, Connor Anear, Valerio Di Mascio, Chan Sriram and trainee Rananjay Singh-Rathore.

The Italian team was led by partners Stefano Sennhauser and Cristiano Tommasi together with associates Fabio Gregoris, Edoardo Brugnoli and Gianmarco Volino, with tax counsel Elia Ferdinando Clarizia. In Luxembourg, the finance team was led by partner Pierre Schleimer with counsel Francois Guillaume De Liedekerke and associate Arnaldo Mitola and the corporate team was led by partner Fabian Beullekens with counsel Pol Theisen, senior legal adviser Khalil Boudhina and associate Anne Claire Della Porta
