A&O Shearman advises Helaba on issuance of additional Tier 1 bonds

A&O Shearman has successfully advised Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) on an important step in the structural change of its capital structure. As part of this comprehensive advice, A&O Shearman assisted Helaba with the issuance of AT1 (Additional Tier 1) bonds with a volume of EUR500 million and the coordination process with the competent regulatory authorities. 

The AT1 bonds represent an innovative form of core capital that is of key importance for credit institutions to meet the strict regulatory requirements and at the same time strengthen their competitiveness. A&O Shearman regularly advises credit institutions on the issuance of capital instruments and their regulatory recognition as such.
