Training contract

The recruitment process starts in September in the year in which you start your master’s degree. The process ends in December of the same year. If successful, you will join us the following September. In addition to full involvement with everyday aspects of work in a particular practice area, you can look forward to a variety of social activities and networking opportunities, as well as in-house training on A&O Shearman computer and know-how systems, and training in practical and technical skills.

We look for the following skills and attributes across each of our practice areas:

  • A high level of English proficiency

  • The ability to think laterally
  • A pragmatic and well-organized approach
  • The ability to adapt to different cultural settings
  • The ability to cope well under pressure
