Banca Sella, first premium covered bond program and inaugural issuance, with A&O Shearman advising

Banca Sella has structured its first covered bond programme for a total amount of EUR3 billion and issued its first covered bond with a nominal value of EUR400 million.

The program was structured to allow the attribution of the "Premium" label to the covered bonds, in accordance with the new Italian and European regulations governing the issuance of covered bonds.

A&O Shearman advised Banca Finanziaria Internazionale, acting as arranger, and Mediobanca, acting as dealer in the structuring of Banca Sella premium covered bond program, and Mediobanca, Crédit Agricole CIB and UniCredit acting as joint lead managers in the inaugural bond issue.

The A&O Shearman team was led by partner Pietro Bellone, supported by associates Chiara D'Andolfo and Aldo Brombin Tuzzato. Counsel Elia Ferdinando Clarizia advised on tax-related matters.
