Department of Commerce represented by A&O Shearman in direct funding for Absolics

The U.S. Department of Commerce was represented by A&O Shearman in a direct funding award made through the DOC’s CHIPS Incentives Program’s Funding Opportunity for Commercial Fabrication Facilities.

Absolics, an affiliate of the Korea-based SKC, will receive up to USD75 million to support the construction of a facility in Covington Georgia. The DOC announced the award on Dec. 5 in a press release.

The A&O Shearman team that represented the DOC was led by energy, natural resources & infrastructure (ENRI) partner Sami Mir, and included ENRI associates Sara Douki, Niso Matari, Rebecca Dresner, Zeina Traboulsi and Leo Melo, among others.
