Amanda Thomas

Amanda is in charge of International DCM, Derivatives & Securitization Know-How & Training and is responsible for the development and management of internal and external knowledge resources and training programmes.

She is actively involved in many industry working groups on debt capital markets related issues, including the impact on the markets of the EEA and UK prospectus and market abuse regimes, the EEA Transparency Directive and the UK equivalent, the EEA and UK PRIIPs Regulations, MiFID and UK MiFIR, IBOR discontinuation, ESG related regulation and digitalisation.

Prior to taking on a knowledge role Amanda worked as an associate at the firm gaining experience of a wide range of international capital markets transactions, including structured and equity linked issues, covered warrant issues, vanilla debt issues, ECP, Global CP and EMTN Programmes.

  • Amanda is at the forefront of regulatory legislative and market practice developments relevant to mainstream debt capital markets deals.

Pro bono

  • Supervising partner for Family Reunion from Europe project (a collaborative project with NGOs Refugee Legal Support and Coram Children's Legal Centre).

Published Work

  • Member of the Editorial Board of the Oxford University Press Capital Markets Law Journal.

Speaking Engagements

  • Amanda chaired the IFLR's annual EU Prospectus and Primary Market Issuance conference for a decade until 2021.
  • She devised, co-hosted and chaired the European Primary Bond Markets Regulation conference with ICMA in February 2023 and January 2024.
