Dr Charlotte Willemer

Counsel

Charlotte advises domestic and international clients in complex litigation matters related to restructuring and insolvency.
A main focus of her work are professional liability disputes and disputes concerning transactions or financing that can arise during a crisis. Furthermore, she has more than a decade of experience in dealing with general commercial and corporate litigation as well as insurance related disputes. She regularly deals with matters of private international law and international civil procedure law.

Experience

Representative matters

  • A client against claims for damages in a three-digit million amount in connection with the insolvency of an energy company.
  • A client against a liability claim brought by an insolvency administrator for alleged breach of professional duty in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion.
  • An international group with regard to the cross-border realisation of collateral in a three-digit million range and relating protective measures.   
  • A consulting firm and its managing director in court for alleged high volume claims for damages in connection with the insolvency of an industrial company.
  • An international automotive supplier in a cross-border insolvency claw-back dispute.

Pro bono

  • Supporting an international NGO in relation to applications of vulnerable Afghan citizens under the German Federal Admission Programme for Afghanistan (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm für Afghanistan).
