Daniela Schmitt is based in our Frankfurt global financial markets team.
She has a wealth of experience in navigating complex transactions across both German and international markets covering different capital market products, with a particular focus on securitisations, structured finance, and derivatives and including related financial regulatory matters.
 
In addition, Daniela has a strong background in financial markets infrastructure law. Her expertise includes the legal and operational aspects of the issuance, trading, clearing, settlement, and custody of financial instruments. She regularly assists issuers, investors as well as infrastructure and service providers on the structuring and implementation of capital market transactions using various platforms and technologies. She also assists clients with the regulatory compliance with the relevant rules and standards, such as the Central Securities Depositories Regulation, the European Market Infrastructure Regulation, the European Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation, as well as the German Safe Custody and the German e-Securities Act. Daniela has worked on several projects involving the use of digitalised electronic securities (including under the eWpG), leveraging her in-depth knowledge of financial markets infrastructures.
