Elena advises on a wide range of domestic and international disputes in commercial, banking and finance sectors, including litigation on derivatives with private entities and/or Italian local authorities, financial services, bank guarantees, UCP 600 Rules. She also has experience in bankruptcy law, product liability claims (B2B and B2C) and internal investigations.

She represents a diverse range of international companies, banks and financial intermediaries in court and out-of-court proceedings/matters, working closely with clients business and legal teams, criminal counsel and technical experts.

Elena has a strong grasp of international private law, especially the post-Brexit legislation, on which she constantly advises clients and transactional teams in drafting legal opinions and relevant documentation. She has a sound knowledge of Italian and European legislation on electronic signature. She regularly provides legal advice on such legislation and on the online onboarding process for financial services.

She is currently on secondment in the L&I department of our London office where she works with our English team on complex litigation and investigations matters.

Experience

Pro bono

Assisted NGO active in the human rights field in analysing the asset recovery mechanisms of the International Criminal Court and relevant national implementing legislation to obtain financial recovery for the victims of human rights abuses.

Assisted in a case relating to the enforcement of an employment tribunal award in UK and connected asset tracing.
