Íñigo has advised a number of leading companies on domestic and crossborder public and private M&A transactions.

He has more than 24 years’ experience in a variety of corporate work, private equity deals, private and public M&A, joint ventures and restructuring, advising both domestic and international listed and unlisted clients and private equity houses.

He worked in the PE department of A&O Shearman London. He is one of the most reputed M&A and private equity experts in the market. He has worked for a variety of investment strategies, from traditional PE investments to infrastructure investments. Iñigo has acted also for managers in LBOs and is a recognized expert on putting in place R&W insurance complex structures in the market.

Íñigo is recommended as PE and M&A lawyer in Chambers & Partners (Band 1), IFLR 1000 and Legal 500. Íñigo has also been named “Best Lawyer of the Year in Spain” by Expansion 2023.

Representative matters

  • A global financial institution on the sale of 9.9% of Telefónica to Saudi Telecom for a value of 2,100 million euros.
  • Igneo Infrastructure Partners (First Sentier Group) on the sale of the entire share capital of Parkia, and indirectly, of its subsidiaries, to Indigo.
  • Iberdrola in the sale of a minority stake in Wikinger, one of its large offshore wind projects in Germany. Deal value 700 million euros.
  • A multinational energy and petrochemical company on the sale of 25% of its upstream business (E&P Exploration & Production) worldwide. Assets valued at more than 25,000 million euros.
  • The Board of Directors of Siemens Gamesa in relation with the voluntary takeover bid launched by its majority shareholder Siemens Energy AG.
  • A private equity firm on the acquisition of a multinational food company.
  • A private equity firm on the EUR1.35bn acquisition of an online real estate classifieds platform. The biggest private equity transaction of the year 2020 in Spain.
