Joan has experience advising national and international clients on domestic and cross-border financial transactions (both acting from the lender and sponsor side), including acquisition finance (LBOs and finance of private equity acquisitions), project finance and real estate finance. 
He has also been involved in several refinancing transactions in recent years.

  • The lenders, acting a group of financial institutions as arrangers, in the refinancing of the €1.2 billion debt of the concessionaire of Barcelona Metro Line 9 Tranche 1.
  • Bruc Energy on the €600,000,000 corporate financing backing construction of 6GW of hybridised wind and solar capacity across Spain and Italy.
  • The different group of investors on the commitment financing and notes issuance for Cinven's bid for Amara NZero.
  • A group of financial institutions, among others, as arrangers and lenders in the €890,000,000 financing to CVC Capital Partners as part of CVC Capital Partners’ investment plan in the Spanish football league TV rights commercialized by La Liga de Fútbol Profesional (Spanish Professional Football Association).
  • ICG on its acquisition of Grupo Garnica and subsequent refinancing of the group’s debt.
  • CVC Capital Partners on the senior TLB and revolving credit facilities to finance its partnership with and investment in Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, a Spanish private educational services provider.
  • Crayhill Capital Management on the financing made available to Stella Energy Solutions, for the performance of certain engineering, procurement and construction works for battery energy storage systems in California.
  • A group of financial institutions as Bookrunners and a group of commercial banks and institutional investors in the refinancing of the debt of Metro Ligero Oeste, which is the concessionaire of part of the "Metro Ligero" of Madrid.
