Mark is a U.S. capital markets lawyer advising issuers and investment banks in Australia, New Zealand and the APAC region on cross-border debt and equity capital raisings.

His expertise encompasses investment-grade and high yield debt, sovereign bonds, US IPOs and Australian IPOs with a Rule 144A offering, as well as hybrid securities offerings and liability management transactions.
 
Mark regularly advises some of Australia’s largest debt issuers (or their underwriters), including Macquarie Group and Macquarie Bank, NBN Co, Transurban, CSL, Scentre Group, Queensland Treasury Corporation and an independent oil and gas producer. He has advised on many landmark equity capital markets transactions, including the IPOs of Wisetech, Viva Energy, PEXA, GQG and Siteminder and record-setting secondary equity offers for CSL and Transurban. He advises sovereign and semi-sovereign issuers and state-owned enterprises, including on some of the most notable privatization transactions in recent years, such as the IPOs of Medibank and Meridian Energy and the final stage of the privatization of Telstra. Mark is particularly sought after to guide first-time issuers to the U.S. capital markets.
 
Mark has extensive transaction experience throughout APAC, having advised on major capital markets transactions for issuers based in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Singapore.
 
Mark has been rated Band 1 by Chambers since 2016, where he is described as “a very good communicator who gives straightforward and clear advice and is always available to deal with complex issues” and someone “who really knows his stuff and what is required when it comes to 144A debt issuances.” He has also been repeatedly recognised by Legal500, IFLR1000 and Best Lawyers.
