Matthias advises corporate clients, financial sponsors, banks and financial services providers on M&A transactions and complex, multi-jurisdictional reorganization projects.
He has extensive experience in advising on complex and cross-border M&A transactions (including auctions, bilateral transactions, joint ventures and exits) on both sell- and buy-side, as well as large and complex cross-border/multi-jurisdictional reorganisations, in particular in the banking, financial services and regulated industries but also in the mobility, technology and professional services sector. He also holds a Masters degree in Finance (MSc. Finance) providing additionally for a commercial and business-minded angle of his advice.

Representative matters

  • Avenga, an international IT service provider and consulting group and a portfolio company of a global asset management firm, on the acquisition of Ukrainian-based Perfectial Group. The deal focused on Ukraine and Malta and was negotiated and steered by us from Germany.
  • A multinational financial institution on the acquisition of assets of the European acquiring and issuing business from insolvent Wirecard group.
  • Converge Technology Solutions, a listed international IT solutions provider, on its European market entry and numerous M&A transactions in Germany.
  • House of HR, a leading European provider of specialized talent solutions and engineering and consulting provider, on numerous acquisitions in the German market.
  • A subsidiary of a multinational financial institution on the acquisition of MCE Bank from Mitsubishi.
  • Saham Group, Africa's leading multi-services group, on the merger of Bertelsmann's and Saham Group's CRM businesses.
