Paolo has a comprehensive expertise in restructuring and insolvency, with a particular emphasis on Italian bankruptcy law, corporate restructurings, and general corporate law.

His proficiency extends to advising on all the significant transactions in the Italian market in recent years. Moreover, Paolo regularly advises Italian and international private equity funds, hedge funds and global corporations on complex M&A transactions, including minority investments, takeovers and joint ventures, ensuring a high level of protection for his clients' investments.

Previously, Paolo served as the deputy head of litigation for the Italian dairy conglomerate Parmalat. In this role, he managed litigation matters stemming from the group's insolvency and financial fraud. He also played a pivotal role in legal issues related to the company's restructuring plan.

Paolo's in-depth in-house experience enhances his ability to provide clients with a unique insider perspective on corporate crisis management and the intricacies of navigating complex restructuring and insolvency cases.

Representative matters

L.C.M. also in the interest of its sole shareholder Eastlink Lanker PLC, in relation to turnaround of the Client with a debt restructuring transaction carried out through a composizione negoziata, one of the restructuring procedures set out in the Italian Code for Business Crisis and Insolvency.

A number of bondholders of Officine Maccaferri S.p.A. in the context of the pending concordato preventivo proceedings of the latter. In particular, we advised the minority bondholder with respect to certain resolutions of the bondholders' meeting as well as the treatment offered to them in the concordato proposal.

Muzinich & Co. SGR S.p.A. in connection with a super senior financing to Grandi Molini Italiani S.p.A. in the context of an Art. 182-bis debt restructuring agreement.

Illimity Bank in the financing, authorised by the competent Court under article 182-quinquies, third paragraph, of the Italian bankruptcy law, to Gpack S.p.A., an operating and holding company of a group of companies leader in the luxury, pharmaceutical and food packaging manufacture, in Italy and abroad, as well as in the co-investment agreements with Oxy Capital.

WRM Capinvest on the restructuring of Kipre Group (quality hams producer and owner of trademarks "Principe di San Daniele" and "King's"), with a view to buy out 100% of the whole group; the transaction involved both a capital increase and other financing schemes under the protections of the Italian bankruptcy law.
