Pol Theisen
Pol advises on a wide range of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including joint ventures, co-investments, corporate restructurings and refinancings. 

Pol also advises on domestic and cross-border restructurings and insolvency law as well as director liability topics.
 
He gained significant experience as lead role advisor in M&A transactions across all sectors, including in particular private capital, real estate, multinational corporates and financial institutions.
 
He first joined A&O Shearman in 2013 as a trainee. He left the firm in 2022 to become a partner and general counsel in a local real estate investment fund and re-joined in 2023. Pol regularly speaks at conferences/seminars on topics relating to corporate and restructuring matters and has published articles on the subject.

  • The shareholders of ELCO Group (a Luxembourg based consultancy, installation, and technical services provider for all types of building) on its sale to STRABAG.
  • The founders of Forstone Luxembourg (a Luxembourg based fund services provider) on its sale to Juniper Square.

  • One Equity Partners on their acquisition of VASS (a leading European provider of digital transformation, cloud infrastructure and managed IT solutions).

  • A global financial institution on the sale to BGL BNP Paribas of all the outstanding shares in its Luxembourg and insurance divisions.
