MiFID II: the EU’s latest adaptations
Significant changes to the EU’s MiFID II legislative package recently entered into force following the MiFID Review, and there are more adjustments in the pipeline within the Listing Act package and Retail Investment Strategy. Forging ahead with its policy of adjusting this somewhat unwieldy package to suit its own markets, the U.K. adaptations to its parallel framework continue.
In some areas, the revisions are leading to increasing divergence between the EU and U.K., whereas similar approaches are emerging in others. There are vastly different timings.
We discuss the EU’s latest amendments in this bulletin, highlighting the related U.K. developments as well as differences and similarities. Firms should continue to monitor these evolving frameworks, considering any operational, markets and commercial impacts.
