A&O Shearman represents initial purchasers on Tecpetrol’s USD400 million bond offering

A&O Shearman represented the initial purchasers in connection with Tecpetrol S.A.’s offering of USD400m 7.625% Notes due 2033. This transaction represents Tecpetrol’s first participation in international capital markets since 2017.

Tecpetrol is a leading participant in the oil and gas market in Argentina and the second largest holder of wet gas acreage in Vaca Muerta, one of the leading shale formations in the world. Tecpetrol is a member of the Techint Group, which includes operating companies around the world involved in the production of steel tubes, flat steel products, engineering, construction and project management services, oil and gas, and other services and manufacturing operations.

A&O Shearman’s work on Tecpetrol’s bond offering demonstrates the breadth of the firm’s experience and expertise in the oil and gas sector. We recently represented ENAP, the Republic of Chile’s state-owned oil and gas company, and Ecopetrol, an NYSE-listed oil and gas company controlled by the Republic of Colombia, in connection with their international bond offerings.

The A&O Shearman team was led by partner Alejandro A. Gordano alongside visiting attorneys Moises Gonzalez Arroyo and Delfina Meccia as well as partner Lorenz Haselberger and associate Daniel Kachmar.
