DITO Telecommunity Project Financing Wins FinanceAsia and Asia Legal Business Awards

Shearman & Sterling has won two awards and one commendation for its work advising DITO Telecommunity Corporation as borrower on the $3.9 billion long-term financing of its Philippines-wide 4G/5G-ready telecommunication network project, one of the largest project financed telecoms deals in Asia to date.

The deal was awarded “Best Project Finance Deal of the Year – Southeast Asia” and received a commendation for “Best Infrastructure Deal of the Year – Southeast Asia” by the FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2023. FinanceAsia’s annual Achievement Awards recognize excellence across Asia’s financial markets.

The deal was also named “Finance Deal of the Year” at the Asian Legal Business Philippine Law Awards 2023. In selecting the winners, the judges considered breadth, complexity, innovativeness and impact or significance of the deals.
