The French Competition Authority approves the acquisition of Flowbird by EasyPark with A&O Shearman advising

A&O Shearman has assisted EasyPark Group, global provider of mobile parking handling solutions, on the notification to the Autorité de la concurrence, the French Competition Authority, of its plan to acquire sole control of the Flowbird group, a global mobility player.

Following an examination of the effects of the transaction on the markets concerned, the Autorité has cleared the acquisition without condition, in a decision of November 20, 2024.

The Autorité concluded that the transaction would not result in any anti-competitive effects within the mobile parking payment solutions market and ruled out any risk of market foreclosure.

Florence Ninane, partner at A&O Shearman in France, comments: "The approval without condition by the Autorité, concerning a market it analyzed for the first time and whose operational modalities have been thoroughly examined, demonstrates our ability to support companies in complex sectors, particularly in the digital sector.”

The A&O Shearman team was composed of partner Florence Ninane, counsel Roxane Hicheri and senior associate Clémence d'Almeida on competition law aspects, as well as partner Claire Toumieux on employment law aspects.
