Akshita advises on a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters and has worked on a variety of cross-border transactions and distressed investments.

Her clients include distressed debt funds, banks, large corporates and other international financial institutions. During her time at the firm, Akshita has completed a secondment in the firm's Dubai office.

Akshita is a dual qualified lawyer. She is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and as an advocate in India.

Representative matters

  • The Vroon Group, a Dutch shipping company, on all aspects of its restructuring primarily in England and The Netherlands. This restructuring was the first successful implementation of a parallel English scheme of arrangement and Dutch WHOA proceedings.
  • The senior secured lenders of Swedish oil manufacturer Nynas AB since 2020 on various matters including the successful consensual restructuring of the Group’s EUR1.5bn debt and a holistic refinancing of its debt structure.
  • The secured lenders (comprising of a number of debt funds) of a £600m revolving facility of intu Properties in all aspects of the administration proceedings of intu, including enforcement of security.
  • An ad hoc group of lenders of £850m credit facilities of the Thomas Cook group in the ongoing liquidation proceedings.

Pro bono

  • Volunteered at the Make A Wish Foundation of India, a charity aimed at providing support and care to underprivileged and terminally ill children in November 2013.
  • Advising with Refugee Legal Support, a human rights charity, in relation to their Family Reunion from Europe project aimed at reuniting applicants in Greece with their family members in the UK.
