Arzan is a qualified chartered accountant and lawyer with a bachelor's degree in finance. He has over 4 years of experience working on complex cross border financings, restructurings, buy outs and special situations deals involving assets across Europe, Asia and the USA. 
Prior to relocating to the UAE in 2024, he worked in the London offices of Ropes & Gray and Slaughter and May, as well as AZB & Partners in Mumbai. Arzan also has experience working as a consultant at Deloitte.

  • The co-ordinating committee of creditors on the court-controlled restructuring of Emirates Hospital Group (EHG).
  • The corporate insolvency resolution process of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited (DHFL) India’s largest corporate insolvency (USD12 billion) and first insolvency process of a financial institution under the current bankruptcy code and its subsequent acquisition by the Piramal group.   • New money financing by Varde Partners (Singapore) in an out of court debt restructuring for Aban Offshore Limited. (*this experience was gained before joining A&O Shearman).
  • USD400 million distressed financing to the Essar group from VTB bank London. (*this experience was gained before joining A&O Shearman).
  • USD800 million distressed financing to Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (listed on the Indian stock exchange) from VTB bank London. (*this experience was gained before joining A&O Shearman).
  • EUR195 million financing for Apax’s acquisition of Atos Italia S.p.A. (*this experience was gained before joining A&O Shearman).
