Barbara specializes in cyber law, data protection, information technology, and intellectual property. 

With extensive experience, she advises clients on various cross-border projects, including data transfers, breaches, governance, digital transformation, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence, and cybersecurity. Barbara handles both contentious and non-contentious matters, collaborating with clients in sectors like fintech, asset management, e-commerce, and media.

Barbara regularly provides insights into Luxembourg contractual law and general civil matters, as well as complex M&A deals. She also has a strong focus on the life sciences sector, where she advises on regulatory issues related to medical devices and cosmetics.

She was seconded to an international bank, where she handled EMEA data protection and cybersecurity matters, including the implementation of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the management of cyber incidents. Barbara actively engages in industry collaboration, participating in working groups within the Luxembourg Bankers' Association (ABBL) and the Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).

  • A global corporate service provider in navigating data protection and cybersecurity compliance in Luxembourg, including the drafting and review of complex outsourcing contracts and policies.
  • Various financial institutions on ongoing data protection issues in Luxembourg, addressing matters such as data breaches, negotiation of commercial and data processing agreements, and the development of comprehensive code of conducts and internal handbooks.
  • A major insurance company in managing a data breach incident, overseeing the notification process to and hearing before the Luxembourg data protection authority.
  • A major e-commerce player and its group entities in a cross-border intellectual property litigation before Luxembourg courts and the European Court of Justice.

Pro bono

  • Advised on licenses agreements for software and compliance with data protection regulations to a non-profit association supporting individuals with rare diseases.
  • Advised on licenses agreements, including issues related to copyright legal guidance to a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing clean water to rural African communities.
  • Supported an impact fund based in Luxembourg investing in transportation & infrastructure from a data protection perspective.
  • Part of the firm's Pro Bono program for a comparative assessment of relocation requirements in various EU countries for refugees.
