He specializes in transactions and counseling involving intellectual property and technology, representing companies in a variety of industries, including semiconductors and software. Cale has completed secondments at Meta in multiple groups, including commercial legal and product legal. Cale also has experience in intellectual property litigation, having litigated patent and trademark infringement cases early in his career.

Earlier in his career, Cale worked as an electrical engineer at W.L. Gore & Associates, in the medical products machine design group, and at SouthWest WindPower, specializing in control systems. During law school, he externed in the chambers of U.S. District Judge Edward J. Davila and interned with in-house counsel at eBay Inc.
