Clemens is an associate in G&R with a focus on projects & energy. 
He advises on a wide range of commercial and Indonesian regulatory matters on the development and financing of major Indonesian projects in a broad range of sectors including renewable energy, oil and gas, shipping, infrastructure and power sector. He also advised clients in corporate financings. Clemens works with various sponsors, lenders, export credit agencies and other institutions.

Representative matters

  • ECAs and Finance Parties on the USD3.1 Billion project financing of the RDMP Balikpapan Project in Indonesia.
  • ADB on the USD44.2 Million project financing of PET Recycling Plant in Kendal, Indonesia.
  • The sponsors on the proposed development of a confidential upstream LNG project in Asia (which is envisaged to include a CCS aspect).
  • CDB on the financing of the 2x200MW coal-fired power plant in Aceh, Indonesia (PLTU Meulaboh).
  • PT Pertamina (Persero), on: (i) USD 1.6bn onshore multicurrency USD and IDR corporate financing with a Sharia tranche based on the principles of Musyarakah; and (ii) USD 1.4bn offshore USD corporate financing.

Pro bono

  • Advising a UK-based NGO on domestic legislation and regulatory framework on female genital mutilation (Project Orchid).
