Fred advises on a range of corporate and commercial transactions including private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPOs, venture capital and growth equity investments, and general corporate advisory work.

Fred has a particular focus on the technology, infrastructure and energy sectors.

Fred has spent six months on secondment to the Corporate department of A&O Shearman's Hong Kong office.

Representative matters

  • Xlinks on its Series A and B equity investments from TotalEnergies, NBO, General Electric and Africa Finance Corporation, in connection with the development of a large-scale renewables power project in Morocco and the UK.
  • A major private equity infrastructure fund on its proposed EUR3.4bn joint venture to acquire a fixed and mobile telecoms network business.
  • PON on its acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Openasia Equipment Limited and Audi distributorship rights in Vietnam.
  • Integrated Micro-Electronics UK Limited on the disposal of all the issued share capital of STI Enterprises Limited.

Pro bono

  • Advising the Big Issue Group on the establishment of impact investing funds.
  • Volunteering with Z2K to advise vulnerable clients on applications for government disability benefits.
  • Advising the Gay Games on various sponsorship and partnership agreements in connection with the Hong Kong Gay Games 2023.
  • Working with detained asylum seekers in the UK on bail applications, specifically in relation to the UK government’s Rwanda scheme.
  • Working with a school in Tower Hamlets to improve the reading ability of children from the ages of 7 to 9.
