Godfried is Head of Netherlands Tax.

Godfried specialises in Dutch and international tax law. In addition, he advises clients in relation to innovative legal solutions beyond tax (e.g. regulatory, structure finance and real estate related). His practice focuses on advising clients on the tax aspects of private and public M&A, public offerings (equity and debt), real estate, infrastructure and energy related transactions and other major corporate transactions, including spin-offs, international restructurings and joint ventures. Godfried also litigates tax disputes. He is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar (advocaat), a member of the Dutch Bar of Tax Advisors and of the Dutch Tax Society. 

From emerging enterprises to large public corporations, Godfried advises some of the world’s leading companies and institutions ranging from seed round investments in start-ups to major acquisitions and disposals by listed multi-national companies. Godfried is particularly adept at navigating the challenges of multi-jurisdictional transactions in which diverging tax and other legal rules must be aligned.

Furthermore, he is often consulted in relation to highly complex tax disputes which require a practical solution. His experience includes a wide variety of M&A and financing transactions for corporations of varying sizes and stages of development.
