Joe advises sponsors, borrowers, lenders, export credit agencies and multilaterals on project development and financing, with a particular focus on the energy and infrastructure sectors. 
He previously worked in the firm’s Istanbul, Moscow and London offices. Joe also has extensive experience advising lenders and borrowers on a range of restructuring, Islamic, leveraged, structured, real estate and general corporate financing transactions.

Representative matters

  • An international energy company on the development of a green hydrogen project in South Africa.
  • An international energy company on the development of a portfolio of sustainable aviation fuel projects in Europe.
  • Masdar, EDF and Nesma on the project financing of the 300MW Jeddah PV project in Saudi Arabia’s part of REPDO's second procurement round.
  • A public petroleum and natural gas company in relation to their investment in the Rabigh 2 and Shuaibah 2 solar PV IPPs.
  • The export credit agencies (including K-Exim, K-SURE and SACE) on the development and financing of USD6bn integrated polymers complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar.
  • A sponsor on the development and financing of a world scale cracker and petrochemical complex located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
  • The sponsor on the Shuweihat 4 RO IWP project in Abu Dhabi.
  • The lenders on the first limited recourse financing in KSA for the project financing for Quantum Switch Tamasuk’s development of a hyperscale-grade data centre.
