Julie Metois
Julie focuses primarily on commercial and civil litigation assisting companies, financial institutions and tech players.

She has significant expertise in corporate, banking and financial litigation. She has also developed in-depth expertise in cross-border litigation, particularly in the enforcement of foreign decisions and arbitral awards, asset recovery, and EU class actions. Julie is a lead member of the A&O Shearman’s Class actions Task Force, which is composed of a number of European offices.

Julie is admitted to the Paris Bar and holds a master’s degree in Economic Law from Sciences Po Paris and the Agrégation d’Economie Gestion from Ecole Normale Supérieure. Julie frequently speaks and publishes articles on litigation and enforcement proceedings.

Julie has been recognised as a Rising Star by Forbes and LJA in the Top-40 of CAC 40 lawyers (Le top 40 des avocats du CAC 40) and by the Institut Choiseul, a think tank, in its Top-40 – Future of law (Futur du Droit). She is recommended by Legal 500 EMEA for Commercial Litigation and has been ranked by Best Lawyers in France for Litigation since 2021.

  • A French bank in the strategy of recognition and enforcement of a foreign judgment and enforcement measures in multiple jurisdictions.
  • A joint venture in charge of managing an infrastructure abroad for the recognition and enforcement of an international arbitration award and enforcement measures in France.
  • A financial institution in order to obtain the overturn of an order of exequatur of an arbitration award rendered when the dispute had been settled.
  • A bank in the strategy of enforcement of a mortgage on French real estate.
  • A Swiss company in proceedings seeking to obtain the enforcement of an arbitral award against a major player of the food industry, by an arbitration panel in London, and securing related attachments.
  • A technology company in the context of a dispute related to a capital increase.
  • Several companies in the context of disputes related to share purchase agreements or termination of commercial contracts governed by French law.
