Julie Vander Donckt

Julie has extensive experience in advising on financial transactions including real estate financing, acquisition finance, export finance, corporate lending and refinancings.

In this context, Julie has been working together with both Belgian as international financial institutions, direct lenders, private equity houses, sponsors and multinational enterprises. She has particular experience in managing major complex cross-border transactions. Her main area of expertise covers real estate and private equity sector.

Julie has previously been seconded to the Singapore office. She is identified in the Legal 500 2023 as a “rising star” among the next generation lawyers.

Experience

Representative matters

The Korean investors in respect of the financing of the acquisition of a Belgian special purpose vehicle that owns the North Galaxy Towers in Brussels from AXA and ATP.

Various private credit funds and sponsors on their event driven unitranche financings.

The lenders in relation to a refinancing by Ontex Group. A “bank + bond” deal, the multi-layered refinancing incorporated a syndicated facilities agreement and a high yield bond for an aggregate amount of €900,000,000.

A syndicate of Belgian and French banks on the refinancing of 26 properties mostly located in Brussels and owned by Befimmo, a portfolio company of Brookfield Asset Management. This was the biggest real estate finance transaction in Belgium in 2023.
