She leads diligence processes in privacy, data and cybersecurity for M&A, Private Equity, joint venture and strategic transactions, advises clients on compliance with international and U.S. federal and state privacy laws, manages incident response and data breach procedures, and drafts comprehensive privacy compliance programs. Sonya is a member of the International Association of Certified Professionals as well as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). 

Sonya assists international clients in integrating privacy and cybersecurity considerations into their product development process, helps clients navigate the ever-changing regulatory landscape of data privacy, and advises clients on how to safeguard their data assets. She has been at the forefront of addressing novel privacy challenges posed by advancements in AI, biometrics, and IoT, and ensuring that her clients remain ahead of regulatory expectations while fostering trust with their customers. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, Sonya helps companies integrate privacy-by-design principles and emphasize the importance of embedding privacy considerations.
