VinAI sells Generative AI business to Qualcomm

A&O Shearman has advised VinAI Artificial Intelligence Application and Research Joint Stock Company (“VinAI”) and its shareholders on the successful sale of its research and generative AI business to Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (“Qualcomm”). 

The transaction marks a significant milestone in Vietnam’s AI landscape and aligns with the national strategy for AI research, development, and application until 2030.

VinAI is a leading AI research company, renowned for its expertise in generative AI, machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. VinAI is based in Vietnam and is a part of the Vingroup ecosystem.

Qualcomm, based in San Diego, California, is a global leader in wireless technology innovation and 5G development.

This is one of the first major AI acquisitions in Vietnam, highlighting the country's growing prominence in the global AI arena.
