Ben has spent six months on secondment to the private equity team at Brookfield Asset Management in London. Ben has also spent six months on secondment to A&O Shearman's Tokyo office.

  • The lenders to Youngs plc on the corporate aspects of Youngs' GBP162m takeover of City Pub Group.
  • Brookfield on the sale of Greenergy, a supplier of road fuels and a major biofuel producer, to Trafigura.
  • Direct Line on the Class 1 disposal of its brokered commercial insurance business to RSA Insurance for GBP520m plus contingent consideration.
  • OpenText Corporation on its £5.1bn takeover of Micro Focus.
  • Sumo Group Ltd on its sale of its US video game business to Jagex.
  • Ledmore Capital on its sale of the Thunderhead Group to Medallia, Inc for up to USD210m.
  • Sumo Group plc on their recommended GBP919m takeover by Tencent.
  • Hanesbrands, Inc on the disposal of its Hanes European innerwear business.
  • A multinational telecommunications company on its GBP31.4bn joint venture with Telefónica to merge Virgin Media and O2’s fixed, broadband and mobile businesses in the UK.
  • A consortium comprising Sampo and RMI on their recommended GBP1.7bn takeover offer for Hastings.
  • Prosus on its GBP4.9bn competitive hostile bid for Just Eat.
  • Grünenthal on multiple transactions, including its USD922m acquisition of the prescription products Nexium in Europe and Vimovo worldwide (excluding the U.S. and Japan) and its acquisition of the European rights (excluding Spain and the UK) to Crestor (rosuvastatin) and its associated brands for a total consideration of up to USD350 million, each from AstraZeneca.
