Advising on the sale of CityFit Group to Medicover

We advised the sellers and CityFit Group on the sale of the CityFit fitness club chain to Medicover. The transaction concerned 16 CityFit Group companies operating 26 innovative gyms across Poland.

CityFit is recognized for its superior quality, wide availability of premium equipment, and extensive training facilities. The transaction has received clearance from the president of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.

The acquisition by Medicover, a leading international healthcare and diagnostic services provider, marks a pivotal moment in the fitness and healthcare sectors in Poland, and underscores the growing integration of fitness and healthcare services, reflecting broader market trends towards holistic health solutions.

The A&O Shearman team was led by partner Magdalena Nasiłowska, and included counsel Piotr Szczeciński and associate Jakub Żebrowski. The transactional team was supported by senior associate Maciej Szykut and associate Paweł Grzesik. Competition law advice was provided by senior associate Aleksandra Deszyński.
