A&O Shearman represents U.S. Department of Commerce in USD6.1 billion direct funding to Micron Technology

A&O Shearman represented the U.S. Department of Commerce in the direct funding of up to USD6.165bn to Micron Technology to support the company’s two-decade plan to invest approximately USD100bn in New York and USD25bn in Idaho thereby creating roughly 20,000 jobs.

The award, made public on December 10, 2024, in a press release, was made through the DOC’s CHIPS Incentives Program’s Funding Opportunity for Commercial Fabrication Facilities.

“We are very pleased to have been able to assist the Department of Commerce in the execution of critical funding for a series of enormously important projects,” said energy, natural resources & infrastructure (ENRI) partner Sami Mir.

The A&O Shearman team that advised the Department of Commerce was led by ENRI partner Sami Mir, and included ENRI associates Sara Douki, Niso Matari, Rebecca Dresner, Zeina Traboulsi, Punarva Gera and Simran Kaur, among others.
