A&O Shearman advises euNetworks on EUR1.26 billion sustainability-linked financing

A&O Shearman acted as legal counsel for euNetworks Holdings Limited (euNetworks), a Western European bandwidth infrastructure company, on a new sustainability-linked debt raise incurred under euNetworks existing debt platform.

The financing, provided by infrastructure-focused financial institutions, will be used to refinance certain existing debt as well as funding the construction and development of the next generation of critical bandwidth infrastructure in Europe.

Ed Moser, partner, and Danielle Hyde, Madeleine Mitchell and Will Chuter, associates, led the deal from London with Filip Tanghe, partner, and Margot De Wolf, associate, in the Brussels office and Amine Bourabiat, partner, and Alexia Legrand, associate, in the Paris office.

Wolfgang Melzer, partner, and Susanne Beckhaus, senior associate, worked on the deal in the Frankfurt office. In the Amsterdam, Niels de Ru, partner, and Leon Zebeda, paralegal, worked on the deal alongside Jimena Urretavizcaya, partner, and Joan Miquel Carbonell and Maria Ruiz-Gollury, associates, in the Madrid office.

euNetworks builds and invests in city and long-haul fibre networks to connect key data centers and data center hubs across the UK and Europe.  The company owns and operates deep fibre networks in 18 cities and also operates a highly differentiated long-haul network that spans 17 countries today.

A&O Shearman previously advised euNetworks on the establishment of its debt platform refinancing in 2021 and advised Stonepeak on its acquisition of euNetworks in 2018.
